I dont have an account, so I'm not gonna be able to read the article, nor do I really want to sign up, but from what you've said this is my 2 cents if you care.
The war on 'Terror' on both sides includes a lot of PR, if they are trying to or not. Osama and the terrorists don't have sympathizers, well, not in the general population, and we are still wondering why are troops are over in the Middle East, for Iraq, Afghan, etc. looking for im and not finding him etc.
The worst move they would possibly make, if someome thinks 9/11 severely pissed us off, if they try to bring out an act of terrorist on just 1 school, doesn't have to be a lot, but 1 school. I could almost guarentee that we stop caring about money it takes to find this guy, no one cares about why were are over there, etc. Because in most countries, but us being one of the countries you certainly wouldn't want to do that too.
Any input? Basic overview, a lot of this war is P.R. from both sides, and if they do have any sympthizers or people who doubt why we are over there, they attack just 1 of our schools, big or small, it makes no difference, and kill innocent children we are going to be 100 times more irate then we were after 9/11. And I don't say that to discount the deaths on 9/11, thats not what I mean. Especially since I guarentee there were children in the WTC as well. But targeting our children specifically, thats a much much bigger hellstorm waiting to happen.

If your going to post a link it should be related to this site - and memberships should not be a requirement. I'd be pulling this one down - M.

Since this is a law enforcement sharing website (as it was explained to me) for law enforcement officers (LEOs) to exchange infromation, I believe this post is very appropriate. While many LEOs know about policeone.com and officer.com, not every LEO does. If you are a LEO and don't belong to Officer.com or Policeone.com, I highly encourage you to review one or both of these law enforcement websites. The information provided to LEOs is very good in my opinion. Whether you join or not for the sites special reports/articles is up to you. Anyone can view the websites, but only members can view the special reports/articles. Membership is free but you must be a LEO.
As far as terrorists go, I have a little experience with them from my military days. NEVER, NEVER under-estimate the enemy. The Russians did and they paid for it. The incident I'm talking about is the Chechnian/Al Qaeda attack on the Russian school about 1 Sep 2004. There are a lot of lessons learned from this terrorist attack.
Again, my understanding is this is a law enforcement website for LEOs to share information. This post was made to share information with LEOs on another front of this war with terrorism.
Here is an open-source link to the article.

Interesting article. The Beslan incident was particularly atrocious. I followed that as it happened in Russian newspapers and articals and found some of the details to be quite disturbing.
One satisfactory detail I read was when after the battle, some of the parents saw a wounded terrorist being carried to an ambulance on a stretcher. Lets just say that the terrorist no longer needed an ambulance after they were done with him. I am fairly certain that Russian Authorities brought no charges against the parents for their actions later. I can only wonder that in this PC country we are living in here in USA that if that same thing happened, would the parents be imprisioned for such actions. I would hope not!
USA needs to restrict and severely scrutinize who gets into her in order to prevent a school takeover or similar incident. PS In case you think I have a phobia. I am an immigrant myself and glady offer myself for inspection.
I have no doubt this threat is real and could be effected at any time. The seriousness of this danger is underplayed in school boards (from what I have observed) and, in many cities, LE agencies are underfunded and undertrained for this sort of event.
I doubt many minds did not turn to Beslan when the Amish school massacre was unfolding.
I decided last year to home school my child, but if she were in a public or private school I would be in her classroom and looking for every exit to the outside or hiding places in the classroom and would be training her to use one of them if a takeover sit occurred.
I think every parent should prepare their children in their child's own classroom and insist on the school administration's assistance.
