Not to minimize the graveness (is that a word?) of the situation, but check out the following clip from Gary DeLanges, President of the San Francisco Police Officer's Association:

Don't know where this stands as to Gary's promises, but man it sounds good!

Damn! It is sad that yet again another officer lost his life because of some stupid criminal and yet again the cops are the "bad guys". But I did lilke what that guy said. I think judges are a big problem too, half of them don't want to do actual work. Judges setting bail for people who don't deserve it, and or, setting it repeatedly for a repeat criminal, is ridiculous! I watch America's Most Wanted and when they tell the story that a rapist or child molester disapeared because the stupid judge set bail for them, it pisses me off. It would be nice if someone could take the initiative to start changes in the justice system, because they are badly needed. And the frickin media needs to be changed too. Hmm, let the criminals get away?, or chase and arrest the criminals? I know where I stand. And the media blaming a cop, what it sounds like, for his own death is ridiculous. How is it his fault the criminals ran into his squad car? I'd like to see the media reason that out.

Yeah, I was working that night, and personally knew Nick Birco. Very somber mood around Co. C, especially after losing Isaac two years ago...
