We are expected to have 2-4" of snow on the ground by drive time tomorrow morning. It's been raining all day, will change to freezing rain soon, and snow begins around midnight.

Our first Winter Weather Advisory of the season. Hope it's not a sign of the winter to come. It can be cold, and it can snow, but only from the week before Christmas until New Year's Day. ;D

I am NOT looking forward to driving to work in the morning. I'm such a wimp when it comes to driving in snow and ice. :P Mostly because I worry if the "other" guy has control of his car!

I've only been in 2 accidents in my life; one was because the other car lost control and was doing some rather nice pirouettes all the way down the road. Guess what stopped the dance? My 6-month old car. ::)

It was NOT fun trying to get out of my car, with the driver's side totally smashed in, seat belt locked, wearing a long wool coat, winter boots, and I'm short, so my seat is up pretty close to the steering wheel. LOL - I felt like a contortionist!

Does anyone actually LIKE driving in this stuff!? ???

I hope all that stuff stays up there . Last year we had that huge ice storm, here in oklahoma, we was out of power for a month and a half here. And also as i was going to school i had huge electric lines fall on me trappin me for 5 hours. Fun huh?? Hope this winter will be dry ???

Yikes, OHP! Trapped by power lines?! Sounds like an electrifying ordeal! (Sorry, couldn't help myself :P ) But sounds like you made it out okay. You managed to find us. ;D

Yup...if I had to choose between ice or snow, I'd take the snow. Ice can do so much more damage. And you can't control your car in it, unless you're allowed to put chains on your tires. We can't here. Like it will really tear up the roads. ::) I don't think they'd notice a few more potholes and cracks. Our roads are some of the worst in the country already. :P

Yeah it was, i was driving a 2001 Z-71 and it send 17,500 volts though it. It looked pretty bad every thing was fried on the inside. It looked like 4th of July when i hit it,haha. Then i sit there for 5 hours listening to the power go though the lines. It was a bad night.

Well, you were headed to school, so I guess you had a chance at some extra study time. :P

P.S. Do you have curly hair now? :o ;D

The madness has started already. They're running a ticker on TV that says police are asking motorists to avoid a section of I-75 that is closed due to a major accident, and will remain so for some time. It's still only raining outside! ::)

I usually go in early to avoid the rush hour madness. Maybe tomorrow I'll go in late to let the road get clear. :-\

I don’t ever want to drive in it! That’s even why I prefer spring skiing, no snow on the roads. http://www.plauder-smilies.de/smile.gif

Yippee. All that rain froze, and 3 inches of snow on top of it. Getting ready to blaze the trail now. This should be a completely non-stressful start to my day. :P

(Californian) I thought it was worse to drive on ICE. Seems 3 inches of snow would give way to the ice rather quickly.

Not when the ground is cold enough to hold the snow.

Actually, the commute wasn't bad. All of the expressway interchanges had ice build up and numerous spin-out accidents, but other than that, the roads were just fine.

I should try going slower more often. I actually passed a few people I know and had time to look over, recognize them, and wave. ;D
