View Full Version : How many of you...
are into carving pumpkins?
Do you do it the old fashioned way or are you using the patterns?
We usually get a bunch of friends together and have a big carving party. A couple of years ago we had 14 pumpkins lining the driveway! We like to use the patterns - they come out very cool looking.

When my son was younger, it was quite a ritual for us to carve the pumpkins. We did "free hand" in his younger years, just to experience the fun of seeing your own handiwork. We later used patterns, too. It was always fun. :)
I miss all those fun kid things. I think I need another child. This one's no fun anymore now that he's almost 17. :(
And you're right, ASmith. I never put my pumpkins "outside" until the night of Halloween. They were displayed inside through the windows up until that night. Too may ended up as road kill. :P

Pumpkin carving parties are fun. I have a friend who is really into decorating for Halloween and a bunch of us always give her a hand.
I heard on the Don Imus radio show this morning that some guy got arrested in his own home for hmmmm, oh let's just say, getting a little too familiar with his pumpkin. He apparantly left his drapes open. I'm not sure what kind of face he had carved on it either. http://www.plauder-smilies.de/biglaugh.gif
