Not sure where else to put this so....
I just returned from my first visit to Las Vegas. Interesting town, to be sure.
I love the themes the casinos use. I recall when they were promoting the opening of NYNY.
It owns the corner of The Strip and another large street. On that corner is a mini NY harbor with a replica of the Statue of Liberty and two FDNY fireboats. This is all surrounded by a four foot iron fence.
Not long after the 11th cards, flowers and flags started being left along the fence. Then, one by one, t-shirts from various fire and police departments were hung on the fence.
The shirts are now six to eight deep. New ones are added everyday it seems. They are from all over. Some with messages some with out. It is a very moving sight.
Locals told me that the city has decided to archive ALL the shirts and put them on permanent display at UNLV.
I have pictures I would like to post here when I get them developed. I just need instructions on how to do so.
Thought this was worth sharing....
