So about 5 months ago NYPD came here to Boston and offered a free test. I passed the test with a 90% and I'm looking forward to joining the January academy... or thats my plan anyways. I keep getting letters in the mail saying that I need to go and do the other 4 tests whatever those may be. I know there is an agility test and another written exam? Anyways heres the catch. I currently only have 12 college credits. Now from what I understand from nypdrecruit.com is that I need 60 college credits. That's where my question comes in:
Do I need 60 college credits BEFORE the 33 the academy will grant me or can I use those 33 credits towards the 60 meaning that I'll only have to earn 15 more? This is what it says exactly on the recruit site...
Requirements to be hired:
Candidates must be at least 21 years of age on or before the day of hire.
Candidates must be a United States citizen on or before the day of hire.
On or before the day of hire, candidates must have successfully completed either:
Sixty (60) college credits with a 2.0 G.P.A. from an accredited college or university, or
Two (2) years of full-time, active military service in the United States Armed Forces with an honorable discharge and have a high school's diploma or its equivalent.
Any help/responses would be great...this has me baffled. I could always call them up and find out but rather than do all that I found it easier to post here.
